Željka Cvijanović: Baku summit of NAM Contact Group is being held at time when world is in dire need of help
As it was when the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group Summit on the fight against COVID-19 was created, it is being held today at a time when the world is in dire need of help, Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović said at the Baku Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement in Response to COVID-19, SİA informs.
She noted that the summit provides an opportunity to focus the international community's attention on the post-pandemic recovery period, as well as the need for additional efforts to eliminate the negative consequences of the pandemic.
According to her, the world is not changing for the better, as the pandemic has caused serious and long-term consequences, especially in poor countries, increasing economic difficulties.
Cvijanović noted that vaccines and medical supplies were unfairly distributed during the pandemic.
She also said that all countries should reaffirm their commitment to the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect for territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
