RI: Iranian authorities are behind terrorist attack on Azerbaijani embassy

There is a high probability that representatives of the Iranian authorities are behind the bloody terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran that killed one employee of the diplomatic mission and wounded two others, an article of the French edition of Reseau International says, SİA informs.

The article describes in detail the events that took place in the capital of the Islamic Republic on January 27.

"The fact that the terrorist chose Friday, which is considered a public holiday in Iran, was carrying a rifle and full magazines, Molotov cocktails, a heavy blunt object to strike, as well as the complete non-intervention of the Iranian police, suggest that the attack was pre-planned," the article reads.

It also cites Michael Doran, an American expert and senior researcher at the Hudson Institute, who agrees with this conclusion.

According to him, attacks on embassies in Iran don't happen unless the regime wants them to.

The article also stresses that this is not the first attack on the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission abroad. Representatives of a pro-Iranian organization have already attacked the Azerbaijani embassy in London.
