European countries will send 1,155 rescuers to Turkiye, SİA informs, citing the EU Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations.
“7 EU countries, together with Albania and Montenegro, have offered 25 search and rescue and two emergency medical teams.
1,155 rescuers and 72 search dogs are heading to Turkiye, the first teams having arrived yesterday,” the EU directorate-general tweeted.
On February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck Turkiye. As a result, at least 3,381 people died and 20,426 sustained injured. The quake destroyed 5,775 buildings.
