Starting from February 1st, a fee will be charged for crossing the border by car in three regions of Belarus at once: Brest, Vitebsk and Grodno, SIA refers to Belarusian media.
The regions of Brest, Vitebsk and Grodno will charge a fee for crossing the border by car at checkpoints. This decision was taken by the district Soviets of Deputies.
The fee applies until January 1, 2025, and will come into force on February 1, 2023.
It is noted that the amount of the fee does not depend on the number of passengers in the car.
As explained in the Civil Procedure Code, since the funds obtained from the payment of the fee will enter the regional budgets, it should be paid in the territory where the decision to cross the border of Belarus was made.
Documents on the payment of the fee are presented in paper or electronic form at the exit points. The name of the payer (or name of the organization), amount and date of payment, vehicle registration number, purpose of payment should be indicated in the document.
A number of citizens, including disabled people of the Great Patriotic War, group I and II disabled people, representatives of state bodies on business trips, foreigners who came to Belarus at the invitation of the government, and stateless persons are exempted from the duty.
