Zelensky calls on Allies for speedy tank deliveries

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has asked allies to quickly supply pledged armaments and ‘new necessary weaponry,’ but getting promised tanks will take time, as will training for Ukrainian troops.

"The time has come for the grain agreement to cover Nikolayev ports as well."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint press conference with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who is visiting Odessa, Ukraine for negotiations, SIA refers to foreign media.

"It's time to extend the grain agreement to the ports of Mykolaiv region and remove all obstacles to the movement of ships," said Zelensky, expressing hope that Denmark would support them in this matter.

Zelensky also reminded that heavy clashes continue, especially in the Donbass region.

Volodymyr Zelensky has implored allies to speed up delivery of weapons as Russia intensifies its assaults on eastern Ukraine and sends waves of troops in an effort to break through heavy Ukrainian defenses.

Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen said that he was conducting investigations with Zelensky in Nikolayev and Odessa regions.

Frederiksen stated that as a result of Russia's attacks, the infrastructures in the Nikolayev region were seriously damaged and said that they would support Ukraine in the reconstruction of the region.

In November, Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov proposed to extend the grain contract to the port of Mykolaiv.

United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths said that it seems unlikely that the grain agreement will cover other ports in the near future.
