Around 1,400 kilograms of explosives seized in Iraq during operation against Daesh
About 1,400 kilograms of explosives were seized in the operation against the terrorist organization Daesh in Kirkuk, Iraq, SIA refers to foreign media.
According to a written statement issued by the Kirkuk Police Department, Iraqi security forces conducted an operation against Daesh in Hawija region in the south of the city. As a result of the operation, 1400 kilograms of explosives found in the region were seized.
Later, it was reported that the said explosives were taken to a safe place and destroyed.
Two Iraqi policemen were killed in an armed attack carried out by Daesh in the Chimen area, north of Kirkuk, this morning. In 2014, the terrorist organization Daesh captured Iraq's Mosul, Saladin and Anbar provinces, as well as a part of the cities of Diyala and Kirkuk.
The regions in question were taken back from the terrorist organization years ago.
