Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday publicly reprimanded trade and industry minister Denis Manturov for the absence of aircraft contracts, after Manturov said he would provide 175 billion roubles to state airline Aeroflot to lease aircraft, SIA refers to Russian media.
Speaking at a meeting with officials televised on state television, Putin told Manturov to speed up the process of aircraft orders, saying that the contracts should be completed within a month.
The president also complained about the processes taking too long.
"Some businesses still don't have orders... It's been a long time. It's been a long time," Putin was quoted saying.
The Russian leader noted that enterprises should understand the prospects.
"They need to hire labor and production facilities. In addition, enterprises must calculate exactly how many military ships and how many civilian ships will be ordered," Putin said, reminding that there is no such order "even for 2023".
