Russian Defense Minister proposes to raise conscription age to 30 years

Russian Defense Minister proposed to gradually raise the conscription age to 30 years, SIA refers to Russian media.

Sergei Shoigu offered to increase the conscription age from 18 to 21 years old step by step. The age limit of conscripts must be up to 30 years old, the minister said.

Shoigu also believes that it is necessary to bring the size of the Russian army to 1.5 million people, as he said at the a meeting of the Defense Ministry board.

According to the head of the military department of the aggressor country, in the army of a million and a half people there must be not less than 670,000 contract employees.

Shoigu only added that by the end of this year the number of contract servicemen must be increased to 521,000 taking into account the changes in the mobilized groups and recruitment of new troops.
