Putin is optimistic: The East will increase its purchase of Russian gas by 2030

The transportation of Russian natural gas to the East will increase to 88 billion cubic meters, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting of the Council of Strategic Development and National Projects, SIA reports.

The head of state noted that port and pipeline infrastructure will be developed in the south and east of the country in order to reduce the impact of restrictive measures and other hostile actions against Russia. He added that especially the Russian Federation will increase the export of natural gas.

The implementation of projects such as the "Kovigta" field, "Power of Siberia-2", and the Far East route will make it possible to increase gas supply to the East to 48 billion cubic meters by 2025, and to 88 billion cubic meters by 2030.

It seems that Putin is still hopeful. He noted that the new liquefied natural gas projects on the Yamal Peninsula will allow to increase liquefied gas production by 70 billion cubic meters by 2030. According to the Russian leader, this will expand the geography of exports.

Earlier the Russian leader said that the national currency is to strengthen significantly in 2022 and become one of the strongest currencies in the world.
