EU to train 15,000 Ukrainian troops in Poland, other countries

The EU will train 15,000 Ukrainian troops as part of its Military Assistance Mission not only in Poland, but also in some other countries of the bloc, Josep Borrell, the top EU diplomat, said at a news conference on Monday.

"Not all of them in Poland. It will be several different member states that will provide the basis, not only training, not only material, not only trainees, but concrete places in which this training will take place," he said.

He also named for the first time the amount of money that the EU and its member states provided to Ukraine in military assistance since the start of the year. He said the amount exceeded €8 billion.
