Competitions expand across multiple sports at CIS Games in Azerbaijan
The third Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games, hosted by Azerbaijan, will feature competitions today in eight sports, SİA reports.
The finals of individual table tennis matches will take place at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex, starting at 10:00.
Other events include trap shooting at the Gabala Shooting Club, swimming at the Ganja Sports Palace, and football at the Gabala City Stadium, where Belarus will face Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will play against Tajikistan.
Additionally, four new disciplines will commence today. Sambo competitions are scheduled at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex, boxing at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex, and taekwondo at the Mingachevir Kura Olympic Center. Volleyball matches will also take place at the Ganja Sports Palace, where the Azerbaijani women’s national team will compete against Tajikistan at 18:30.
The third CIS Games, which bring together a total of 1,624 athletes from 13 countries, will conclude on October 8.
