Azerbaijan’s first Olympic champion calls athletes to actively participate in voting

"Today, I am very happy when I look at our youth and the successes of our state. Our youthful years coincided with a turbulent period of transition. Now the success of our athletes is the result of the attention and care given to youth politics and sports over the years," Nazim Huseynov, who climbed to the top of the podium in judo competitions at the XXV Summer Olympic Games (1992), told Secki 2024 Independent Media Center.

He called the holding of the elections to the Milli Majlis in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan after 30 years a significant event.

"This is an important event that is considered the restoration of the historical justice of our country and the pride of our people. I call on our athletes to be active in these elections and voting, to be participants in this important historical event," added the first Olympic champion.
