On September 16, Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, met with Ralf Horlemann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to our country. detailed information was given about the main directions and activities of the committee.
The chairman stated that, as a result of Armenia's policy of ethnic cleansing and occupation, our country has faced serious problems for nearly thirty years and more than a million Azerbaijanis have been displaced from their permanent place of residence. He added that, only two years ago, due to the end of the occupation of our lands, and the purposeful steps taken, it was possible for IDPs to return to their ancestral homelands.
It was noted that solving the problems of internally displaced individuals was one of the priorities of President Ilham Aliyev's social policy, and the head of state is taking necessary measures for the successful implementation of the Great Return. Providing attention and care to refugees and internally displaced persons is a leading line in the activities of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva as well.
It was noted that large-scale reconstruction and reconstruction works were carried out in the liberated territories, and that the absolute majority of IDPs were preparing to return with high spirits. Confidence was expressed that the German International Cooperation Society (GİZ GmbH) will continue its successful activities related to internally displaced persons in our country in the period of the Great Return.
Ambassador Ralf Horlemann thanked for the sincere meeting and detailed information and stressed that he will try to further strengthen the German-Azerbaijani relations during his upcoming activities. He said that he intends to get to know our country closely, and for this purpose, he plans to visit Shusha, which he imagines as a legendary city. The German diplomat also praised the speedy restoration and construction works in the liberated territories.
