The body of Ahmadzadeh Maftun son of Seymur, a military serviceman of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, who was martyred during the prevention of large-scale provocations committed by Armenia on the border, was brought to the village of Evoglu, Tartar district, where he was born.
SIA reports with reference to AZERTAC that at the ceremony of farewell to the martyr, Mustaqim Mammadov, head of Tartar District Executive Power, heads of law enforcement agencies, soldiers and officers of military unit and comrades-in-arms participated. The funeral prayer was performed and prayers were recited for the soul of the martyr at the ceremony. Crowd at the village cemetery, as well as the participants of the ceremony chanted the "Martyrs will not die, the Motherland will not be divided!" slogan.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the Tartar District Executive Power, Mustaqim Mammadov, said that the dear memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our land from occupation is always honored and remembered by our people. In the 44-day-long Patriotic War, the heroic Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev achieved a historic victory, and the lands of the Homeland, which had been under occupation for 30 years, were once and for all freed from Armenian fascism. The unity of the people-government-army gave us the joy of Victory. Our brave sons gave a worthy response to the large-scale provocations that the enemy has made on the border these days. Once again, they demonstrated the power of the Azerbaijani Army and its brave sons. The "Iron Fist" crushed the enemy's head.
At the funeral ceremony, the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan on the coffin was presented to Seymur Ahmadov, the father of the martyr. The martyr was buried under volley fire, and prayers were recited for his soul. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played by the military orchestra.
