The Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan organized a celebration for journalists on the occasion of the 147th anniversary of the National Press.
According to SIA, Akif Tavakkuloglu, head of the press and public relations department of the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions, spoke at the event and talked about the current era of the 147-year-old press and the relations between the state and the press, the high attention and care shown by the President to the press and media representatives. He noted that today there is a free, democratic and strong press in the country as a logical result of the political course laid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Today, the policy that serves the formation and development of the independent press is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
The event was later continued with lunch and tea.
