President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree on additional measures in the field of waste management and amending Decree No. 2983 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 6, 2008 "On improving the management of household waste".
According to the decree, in order to continue the organization of the waste management system in the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with modern requirements and to carry out this process in an organized manner in the territories freed from occupation, it is decided that:
- It should be determined that "Clean City" Open Joint Stock Company carries out the following activities:
- Placement and neutralization of solid household waste generated in the territory of Baku city, as well as collection and transportation of such waste generated in the territory of Gala settlement of Baku city;
- until a new solid household waste management mechanism is created in the Republic of Azerbaijan, collection, transportation, placement and neutralization of solid household waste generated in the territories freed from occupation, as well as placement and neutralization of other safe solid waste;
- Placement and disposal of solid household waste in Tartar region.
Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
- to ensure the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the current year's state budget for financing the implementation of the works specified in part 1 of this Decree, and the provision of corresponding funds in the state budget of the following years;
- to resolve other issues arising from this Decree.
- The following changes should be made in the Decree No. 2983 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 6, 2008 "On improving the management of household waste":
- the words "with household waste" in the name should be replaced by the word "with waste";
- on the preamble:
- to remove the word "city" from the second paragraph;
- on the third paragraph:
- the words "and other safe solid waste" should be added after the words "household waste" in the first sentence;
- the words "and other safe solid waste" should be added to the second sentence after the words "household waste" and the word "garbage" should be replaced by the word "waste" in that sentence, and the word "dumps" should be replaced by the words "waste areas";
- the words "and other safe solid waste" should be added after the words "household waste" in the fourth paragraph and the word "city" should be removed from that paragraph;
- The 2nd part should be given in the following version:
- It should be determined that the Society carries out the following activities:
- Placement and neutralization of all solid household waste generated in the territory of Baku city, as well as collection and transportation of such waste generated in the territory of Gala settlement of Baku city;
- until a new solid household waste management mechanism is created in the Republic of Azerbaijan, collection, transportation, placement and neutralization of solid household waste generated in the territories freed from occupation, as well as placement and neutralization of other safe solid waste;
- Placement and neutralization of solid household waste in Tartar district.
