Pine trees treated of disease in the capital

For some time now, a number of species of pine trees planted long ago have been drying up in some areas of the capital. In connection with this issue, which is of serious concern to government agencies, the public and our residents, the Baku City Executive Power held meetings with representatives of a number of relevant agencies, scientists and experts, invited scientists from abroad, as well as UN Food and Agriculture Organization. These scientists and specialists have conducted research in a number of places in the capital. The press service of the Baku City Executive Power told SIA that local scientists are also involved in the elimination of diseases observed in pine trees aged 40-45 years. With the participation of scientists from the Central Botanical Garden, experiments have been launched to treat the trees, ways to eliminate its complications, and suggestions from local and foreign experts are being discussed.

The disease observed in pine trees has been recorded in other countries, and according to foreign scientists, measures to combat the disease in Baku are much better than in Germany, Canada and the United States.

Experiments conducted by local scientists as part of measures to combat the disease continue. As part of the experiment, 9 infected pines were vaccinated in 3 different ways in the Central Botanical Garden. Positive changes in the trees will be investigated in a short time, and after determining which vaccine is more successful, mass vaccination of pine trees will be carried out. Hasan Babayev, executive director of the Central Botanical Garden, doctor of biological sciences, informed this to the media.

A list of diseased, dried and disposed trees has been prepared in all areas of the capital. To date, 3,000 infected and incurable pine trees have been cut down and disposed of in Baku based on the opinion of experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
