The Intelligent Transport Management Center (NİİM) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (DİN) has issued a statement on the latest situation on the capital's roads. The center told SIA that in connection with the 2022 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will take place on June 10-12, traffic will be restricted on the main streets and avenues covered by the Baku City Ring Road from 01:00 on June 6.
Traffic will resume on the morning of June 14.
Traffic restrictions are applied in 3 zones. The first zone is the Icheri Sheher area covered by the race ring, the second zone is the Azadlıq Square and other nearby streets, and the third zone is the area where the 50th anniversary of the UN passes. During the competition, a "Residence Permit" will be issued for the entry and exit of vehicles to these areas. The document is available at the distribution points from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00.
It should be noted that the distribution of the "Residence Permit" began on May 16 and will last until June 12.
As every year, there will be no restrictions on pedestrian traffic during the 2022 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Currently, traffic jams are observed on the capital's roads:
1. On the Baku-Sumgayit highway - without crossing the Khojasan road to the front of the Baku International Bus Station;
2. on Moscow Avenue - in front of Baku International Bus Station until January 20 - on the main and side roads;
3. On Binagadi highway - in the direction of the center - "Azadlig Prospekti" metro station to the intersection with Bilajari - "Baksol" road;
4. on Rovshan Mustafayev Street - starting from January 20 circle on the main road in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
5. Hasan bey Zardabi avenue - from the intersection with Mohammad Khiyabani street to the circle of January 20;
6. Tbilisi Avenue - from the direction of the circle of January 20, to the intersection with Abdulvahab Salamzadeh Street, in the direction of the city;
7. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue - on the main road near the Baku Olympic Stadium to the intersection with Ataturk Avenue, in the direction of the circle of January 20;
8. Crowds in the direction of the Turkish embassy from the intersection of Abbasgulu Aga Bakikhanov Street - Izmir Street to the intersection with Samad Vurgun Street
9. From the intersection of Koroglu Rahimov Street with Academician Hasan Aliyev Street, in the direction of Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
10. Airport Highway - congestion from the intersection with Yeni Ramana Road in the direction of the center to the intersection with Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
11. Heydar Aliyev Avenue - on the road in front of "Koroglu" metro station to the front of ASAN Service Center No.5;
12. Khatai Avenue - from the intersection with Talat Shikhaliyev Street to the intersection with Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
13. on Yusif Safarov Street - from the intersection with Khojaly Avenue, in both directions to the intersection with 28 May Street in the direction of Heydar Aliyev Avenue and Javanshir Bridge;
14. Gara Garayev Avenue - from the intersection with Shirin Mirzayev Street to the intersection with Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
15. Crowding is observed in the part of Shamsi Badalbeyli Street from the intersection with Azerbaijan Avenue to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street.
