The Ministry of Emergency Situations addresses the people on fire safety

The warmer weather and the summer season are accompanied by a further intensification of agricultural activities and an increase in people's interest in recreation in nature. SIA reports that, given that rising temperatures increase the risk of fires and their rapid spread, more caution is needed.

In some cases, careless or irresponsible behavior of people, non-compliance with the rules of fire safety during economic activities or recreation can lead to fires, resulting in damage to state or private property, national and natural resources, including forests and reserves as well as endangering human life and health.

Addressing the population, the Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasizes the importance of strict compliance with fire safety requirements in connection with the warming of the weather, and recalls a few simple safety rules:

- Do not use open fires or smoke in or near grain crops, threshing floors, hayfields;

- Do not throw cigarette butts and matches until completely extinguished;

- Periodically clean the yards of individual houses, farms and industrial enterprises from dry grass and waste;

- When setting a fire in the bosom of nature, choose a specially prepared place for it, or the place of the old fire, an open area free of dry grass, shrubs, trees and wood chips, clear the area of ​​grass in a radius of 0.5-1 meters. Do not leave the stove unattended;

- Do not leave the area without making sure that the fire is completely extinguished - the fire should be extinguished first with water and then covered with soil;

- Do not light a fire in windy weather;

- Remember that bonfires are not allowed in forest areas;

- If there is a fire, if possible, try to extinguish it with the means at your disposal (water, soil, thick cloth, etc.) and inform the "112" hotline.
