Azerbaijani border guards continue to represent our country at the highest levels in prestigious national and international sports competitions. According to SIA, Major Fuad Zeynalov's team achieved great success at the republican kickboxing championship in 12 weight categories, which was held from May 20 to 22 at the "Sarhadchi" Olympic Sports Center with the participation of 200 athletes.
Gasham Mammadov (67 kg), Eljan Alikishiyev (81 kg), Elshad Shahbazov (75 kg) and Akbar Asadov (75 kg) took the first, second and third places, respectively. The winners of the championship received licenses for the Islamic Games to be held in the Republic of Turkey on August 15-17, 2022.
On May 23, the border guards were received by the Chief of the State Border Service, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev. The meeting focused on the development of Azerbaijani sports at the Olympic Games and other prestigious sports competitions. It was noted that they not only represent our country at the highest level, Azerbaijani border guards also make a significant contribution to the area of sports.
