The ambassador noted that Azerbaijanis have always embraced the Mountain Jews: "This fact in itself emphasizes the importance of people of different religions and ethnicities living together in friendship and kindness all over the world".
"I am proud that the US and Israel, as Azerbaijan's friends, support the rich history, mysterious nature, beautiful people of this country," US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger, APA reports.
The ambassador noted while delivering a speech at the opening of the restoration project of the Traditional House of the Gyrmyzy Gasaba Jews in the Gyrmyzy Gasaba said that this project will be a sample of the cultural diversity in Azerbaijan and draw the attention of tourists.
