A minute of silence was held in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our heroic martyrs at the opening ceremony of the regional volleyball championship held in the gym of the Aghdam Olympic Sports Complex with the support of the Aghdam region executive power, the New Azerbaijan Party and the Youth and Sports Department. Afterwards, Khagani Nazarov, Deputy Head of Aghdam Region Executive Power, Mansur Guliyev, Chairman of YAP Aghdam Region Organization and other guests briefed the participants on the state physical culture and sports policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev.
Wishing success to the participants of the competition, the guests noted the special importance of such sports events in order to increase the popularity of sports in the region, promote a healthy lifestyle and the effective organization of leisure time of the population. The first match of the Olympic tournament was held after the draw between Uchoglan village and Birinci Baharli IDP settlements.
