Venue trainings organized within the framework of the Volunteer Program for the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) on May 10–11 have been successfully completed, WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company told SİA.
More than 2,100 volunteers participated in the trainings overall.
It was reported that during the trainings, the volunteers became familiar with the event venue, operational processes, security procedures, departmental areas of activity, as well as the main rules and instructions to be applied during the event days.
The WUF13 Volunteer Program is one of the important initiatives in terms of developing young people’s leadership skills, promoting innovative thinking, and increasing opportunities for international experience.
Among 16,000 candidates who applied to participate in the program, volunteers who successfully completed the multi-stage selection process will operate in various areas during the event, including supporting the reception and registration of guests, organizing information services, providing organizational coordination at session and exhibition venues, as well as implementing cultural programs.
At present, some of the volunteers have already begun supporting the execution of duties in the relevant areas of activity.
Recall that the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held in the city of Baku on May 17–22, will be organized under the theme “Housing for All: Safe and Resilient Cities and Human Settlements” and will host strategic discussions on the future of cities.
