On September 17, seven Azerbaijani citizens - one woman and six children - were repatriated from camps in Syria.
According to the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan, staff visited the returnees at a social service facility under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The visit was carried out on the instruction of Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva to assess the protection of the individuals' rights.
During the meeting, the woman and children were informed about the Ombudsman's mandate and how to contact the institution. Guidance was also provided on the children's social integration, education, documentation, and other relevant issues.
Staff also met with the facility's management to receive updates on the support being provided to the returnees.
The case is under the Ombudsman's supervision, the office said.
