The 11th meeting of the High-Level Working Group on Caspian Sea issues was held in Ashgabat from September 15 to 17, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told SİA.
The delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (led by S. Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (led by K. Gharibabadi), Kazakhstan (led by Z. Amanjolova), the Russian Federation (led by N. Udovichenko), and Turkmenistan (led by M. Atacanov) participated in the meeting. The session was chaired by the head of the Turkmenistan delegation, M. Atacanov.
The parties continued discussions on the methodology for establishing straight baselines in the Caspian Sea. The meeting included a review of cooperation in the Caspian, bilateral and multilateral initiatives, and preparations for activities at various levels.
Delegations expressed their gratitude to Turkmenistan for the high-level organization of the meeting. The next session of the High-Level Working Group will be held in Azerbaijan on dates agreed through diplomatic channels.
