More than 600 citizens of 17 countries have been evacuated from Iran through Azerbaijan.
Report learned that humanitarian crossing has been carried out at a high level for five days now.
Since the start of the Israel-Iran war, more than 600 people have been provided with a comfortable passage through the Astara border checkpoint. The list of evacuees, including Azerbaijanis, contains citizens of 17 countries.
This list includes the CIS countries of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. As for European countries, citizens of Germany, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Romania, and Portugal have been evacuated upon request.
Among the foreigners sent home, there are also citizens of the United States, the UAE, China, and Vietnam, albeit a small number.
The evacuees said that hundreds of people are waiting in line on the Iranian side to cross into Azerbaijan.
