Citizens of Belarus, Russia, Tajikistan, Vietnam evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan

Amid the tense situation in Iran, another group of citizens - from Belarus, Russia, Tajikistan, and Vietnam - has been evacuated through the territory of Azerbaijan.

Among the evacuees are employees of diplomatic missions, members of their families, as well as people working in various fields in Iran.

Over the past five days, citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as individual citizens of the US, Spain, Portugal, Finland, and the Philippines, have been evacuated to Azerbaijan through the Astara checkpoint.

The largest group of evacuees includes representatives of Russian art, who participated in the filming of a movie in Iran for a month.

Among those evacuated the night before was also an Italian citizen, carpet weaver Tahir Sepahi, originally from Ardabil Province, who arrived in Azerbaijan with his family. He noted that he currently lives in Italy.

The evacuation continues at night. Foreign citizens are transported by bus to the airport for subsequent return to their home country.
