Illegal buildings erected in occupation period being demolished in Khankandi, Agdara and Khojaly
Illegal buildings erected during the Armenian occupation are being demolished in Khankandi, as well as in the Aghdara and Khojaly, the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankandi, Aghdara and Khojaly district told Report.
The work is underway as part of large-scale restoration and construction projects in the liberated territories.
According to Elchin Yusubov, the presidential representative in those territories, a significant number of unauthorized buildings that do not meet the architectural standards of Azerbaijan were erected chaotically and without observing construction standards. Many of them are in a state of emergency and are subject to demolition.
Yusubov noted that a large campus of the Karabakh University is under construction in Khankendi. At the same time, buildings that meet the standards are being preserved.
"In the village of Ballija in the Khojaly district, the restoration of 200 houses is being completed, the settlement and reconstruction of the settlements of Talish, Sugovushan and Gasanriz in Aghdara continues. The issues of employment of the population returning to cities, villages and towns are under special attention. Private sector investments in the amount of about 45 million manats ($26.47 million) have been attracted to develop employment in the region.
"It is planned to create processing plants in Khankandi, and to develop agriculture in Aghdara and Khojaly," he said.
