Azerbaijan prepares action plan on Children’s Rights for 2026-2030

Azerbaijan has begun the process of developing an action plan for Children’s Rights for 2026-2030, said Gunel Naghdaliyeva, Deputy Head of the Children Affairs Department at the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Family, Women and Children Affairs, SİA informs.

Speaking at a roundtable dedicated to children's rights held in Baku on May 29, Naghdaliyeva said that appeals have been addressed to all relevant institutions regarding the creation of a working group for this purpose:

"At the same time, the Chairperson of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child has also been involved as an expert in the development of this action plan. According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, coordination is also among the recommendations to Azerbaijan. This includes strengthening the coordination of both ministers and executive heads in the field of ensuring children's rights. Substantial measures are being taken regarding both issues."

The official also noted that based on UN recommendations, a special analysis has been conducted to determine the initial roadmap for creating a state children's budget, and steps in this direction are currently continuing.
