On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the birth of prominent statesman and National Leader Heydar Aliyev, employees of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan and members of Azerbaijani communities abroad visited the Alley of Honor, the committee told SİA.
The dear memory of the Great Leader was commemorated with deep respect, and wreaths and flower bouquets were placed at his grave.
The event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the National Leader's birth at the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs began with the playing of Azerbaijan's National Anthem and a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan’s martyrs.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Fuad Muradov, recalled the tireless activities of the Great Leader in protecting and strengthening the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He spoke about his comprehensive, purposeful policy for the formation of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the creation of a unified diaspora network.
Muradov highlighted that under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the initiative of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, consistent and continuous work is being done to preserve Azerbaijan’s national-cultural heritage, organize Azerbaijanis living abroad, convey Azerbaijani truths to the world community, and open Azerbaijani houses in various countries.
During the event, a segment from the documentary film "Great Patron of Art" dedicated to the Great Leader's 100th anniversary and a video clip titled "Heydar Aliyev and Diaspora Building" were shown.
Namig Huseynov, a sculptor, film director, and student of People's Artist Omar Eldarov, spoke on the topic "Heydar Aliyev: Patron of National-Moral Values." He emphasized that the Great Leader was not only a political leader but also a personality who strived to protect and develop the culture, traditions, and values of the people. The sculptor presented a bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev as a gift to the committee.
Afterwards, young employees of the Committee, Maria Atanasova-Huseynova, Chairwoman of the Public Union "Support for the Development of Azerbaijan-Bulgaria Friendship," and other speakers noted the great historical services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people, stating that he will live forever in memories as an irreplaceable leader.
