Emin Huseynov: Nearly 40% of mine clearance completed in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand

Currently, approximately 40% of the territories in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts have been cleared of mines, according to Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for these districts, Report informs.

Speaking during the 1st Islamic World Culture Forum on "Protection and Revival of Cultural Heritage in the Post-Conflict Period," held in Shusha on April 17, 50% of Aghdam and 60% of the Fuzuli district have been cleared so far:

"In Khojavand, only a small portion of the land has been cleared. However, mine clearance operations will extend to Khojavand as well, where significant historical and cultural sites are located."

He further stated that efforts are underway to restore and revive the cultural and historical monuments in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand: “We are implementing a five-stage reconstruction process in these areas, starting with master planning and design. Master plans have already been prepared for all major centers."
