Azerbaijan Republic State Migration Service appealed to foreigners and stateless persons visiting Azerbaijan in connection with COP29, APA reports.
The Service notes that reigners arriving in Azerbaijan with a COP29 visa or without a visa and having passed the registration of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) must apply to the State Migration Service for an extension of their temporary stay if they need to stay in the country beyond the period provided for by law: "Stipulated in Article 40 of the Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (necessity of service, urgent treatment, etc.), the period of temporary stay in the country may be extended up to 60 days. In this case, foreigners and stateless persons can apply to the State Migration Service for an extension of the period of temporary stay electronically (https://eservice.migration.gov.az/public/create-mom-application) or physically through the "migration services" working windows operating in "ASAN service" centers. We note that living in the country without documents granting the right to stay or reside entails administrative liability by the procedure established by law. For more information, you can contact the State Migration Service's Call Center (012) 919, official social network accounts (facebook, instagram) or the Public Relations Department - [email protected] by email."
