Azerbaijan repatriated six persons from Syria on September 18, and two persons from Iraq on October 7, SİA informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
First, the location, identity, and Azerbaijani citizenship of the repatriates were determined. Representatives of the relevant state bodies responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Syria and Iraq were sent to Türkiye and Iraq, and initial medical and psychological examinations of the repatriates were ensured. The diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan in those countries provided coordination and supplied the citizens with return certificates, and the repatriation of these citizens to Azerbaijan was carried out under the escort of a delegation.
It was noted that appropriate measures are planned to be implemented for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of repatriates into society.
"The government of the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to take necessary measures for the repatriation of Azerbaijan citizens who have become victims of armed conflict in the territories of foreign countries," the statement emphasized.
