The initiative to hold an international conference titled "By youth for youth" in Shusha, Azerbaijan is making a significant contribution to peace among nations, said Salim Al-Malik, Secretary-General of Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Report informs.
Al-Malik expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, the First Vice-President, and the people of Azerbaijan for this groundbreaking initiative.
He emphasized the crucial role of youth in establishing peace, stating, "Forty-two percent of ICESCO's workforce consists of young people. We aim to increase this figure to 50 percent."
The Secretary-General described the forum as a "beacon of hope" and expressed confidence that this initiative would continue.
He also highlighted the strengthening cooperation between ICESCO and Azerbaijan, adding, "We also want to participate in the COP29 summit."
