More than 500 Azerbaijani women and children repatriated over past years
The repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from the conflict zones to the country is carried out continuously, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, said at a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, Report informs.
Bayramov noted that 15 state institutions of Azerbaijan are working jointly in this direction.
"Six citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including five children and a woman held in camps located in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, were repatriated the other day. This is a process that is not quite easy. Over the past few years, more than 500 Azerbaijani women and children have been brought back to the country."
Bayramov stated that there are still people being held there: "I would have difficulty giving the exact number. Therefore, this work is being carried out continuously."
