'Azerbaijan festival' organized in Tokyo's Ueno park

The first "Azerbaijan Festival" was held in the famous Ueno Park in the center of Tokyo, Japan.

The event was organized with the support of the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs and was organized by the Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center and the non-governmental organization "BMI Company Limited" in Japan, SIA reports.

Həlil Kələntər, the president of the Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center, stated in his speech that the purpose of the event is to introduce the ancient and rich Azerbaijani culture in detail to the local residents. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan, our country located on the shores of the Caspian Sea and the ancient Turkish homeland, is well-known not only in Japan but also worldwide, thanks to its significant achievements in recent years. The remarkable restoration and construction works carried out by the Azerbaijani state in the liberated territories and the return of forcibly displaced persons to their ancestral lands, in line with the Great Return Program, were highlighted.

He expressed special gratitude to the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Tokyo government, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for the support shown for the high-level organization of the festival. It was stated that such events, contributing to the further development of friendship relations between the Azerbaijani and Japanese peoples, are of great importance, and these projects will be continued in the near future.

During the two-day festival, publications, exhibits, dances, and songs reflecting our country's ancient history, rich culture, and national cuisine were presented to the residents of Tokyo. The performance of the "Lotus Butterfly" dance group, as well as the performance of the well-known Kyoshi Ohira's group, already recognized in Japan for their musical performances with saz, ud, and tar, were also featured.

The festival attracted great interest among local residents and city guests.
