A meeting was held between the members of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan Press Council and the Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Ahmed Ismayilov, along with the organization's top officials, the Press Council told SIA.
According to the information provided by the Council, the president of the Press Council, Rashad Majid, opened the meeting with introductory remarks. He touched upon the importance of exchanging ideas regarding the interactions between the Press Council and the leadership of MEDIA (Median Development Agency) in the context of the processes in our media space and expressed satisfaction with the traditional nature of such meetings.
During the meeting, discussions primarily revolved around the current state of the media in our country and the prospective development directions. Executive Director Ahmed Ismayilov mentioned that the organization he leads has been conducting meetings with representatives of the regional media in Guba and Lenkoran. The purpose of these systematic meetings is to assess the media environment in the regions and take steps toward its development.
The suggestions from the members of the Management Board of the Press Council were heard, and their questions were answered during the meeting.
On October 12, 2022, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Median Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Press Council. The purpose of signing the document is to establish effective and beneficial cooperation between the MEDIA Agency and the Press Council in realizing joint projects, increasing transparency in the media environment, enhancing the professionalism of journalists, raising the media literacy of society, stimulating processes related to the application of ethical standards, and coordinating other activities for these purposes.
