President Ilham Aliyev: Most of bloody crimes in colonial history of mankind were committed by France

Azerbaijan is extremely concerned about the continuation of colonialism in the 21st century and the growing trends of its new manifestations, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said as he addressed the participants of the international conference themed "Neocolonialism: Violation of Human Rights and Injustice."

"Even though almost 70 years have passed since the Bandung Conference, there are countries that still continue colonialism. France is one of these countries," the Azerbaijani leader said.

"In general, most of the bloody crimes in the colonial history of mankind were committed by France. Having occupied dozens of countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Pacific region, Latin America, having plundered their wealth, kept their peoples in slavery for many years, France committed numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity in these territories; the French armed forces committed genocide against hundreds of thousands of civilians for their ethnic and religious affiliation," the head of state noted in his message.
