On September 28, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, met with businessman, public figure, doctor of technical sciences, the philanthropist-patronage, who built the Tazapir Mosque with his own funds, Igor Ashurbeyli, the grandson of Nabatkhanim Ashurbeyli.
The historical significance of the Tazapir mosque built by Nabatkhanim Ashurbeyli and its great role in the life of the Muslims of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus were discussed in detail at the meeting, the press service of the CMB told SIA.
The memory of N. Ashurbeyli, who gained fame for his generosity and kindness, owned oil fields, spent a large amount of money on the construction of the Sholar water pipeline, and undertook the treatment of the poor and orphans at the Sabunchu Hospital, was remembered with respect, and his soul was remembered with prayers.
Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade sympathetically emphasized the great role of the Ashurbeyli generation in history, and spoke about the valuable activities of the well-known representatives of this generation. He said that the people and the state of Azerbaijan are proud of the representatives of this famous generation and their contribution to national and moral values.
Ashurbeyli, for his part, expressed his gratitude to Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade for taking the time to meet with him. The philanthropist said that he was proud of Azerbaijan's Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, just like every Azerbaijani.
Later, speaking about the history of the Ashurbeylis family, he noted that he is proud of the deeds of people belonging to the family genealogy that serve the people of Azerbaijan.
Ashurbeyli then presented Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade with a commemorative medal depicting the emblem of Ashurbeyli. He also invited the chairman of the CMB to the event to be held on the occasion of the 280th anniversary of Ashurbeyli genealogy in the near future.
