Preparations for the return of Azerbaijani IDPs from Khankandi were discussed during the meeting of Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs with a group of Azerbaijanis who were forcibly displaced from Azerbaijan’s Khankandi city thirty-two years ago, SİA reports.
It was noted that in the current situation, the Great Return will soon affect the Azerbaijani population of Khankendi, who have become internally displaced.
It was emphasized that targeted work is being carried out to accelerate the implementation of measures under the Great Return program, forced migrants are gradually returning to their native lands. The day is not far off when internally displaced persons from Khankendi will join this process.
