Azerbaijan among most mine-contaminated countries, President Aliyev says

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the international conference on "Mine Action - The Path To Reaching Sustainable Development Goals" held in Baku, SİA nforms.

The message was read out by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.

"As a result of the occupation policy of Armenia, Azerbaijan has become one of the most mine-contaminated countries," the head of state noted in his message.

The Azerbaijani leader added that though the conflict ended, Armenia used the Lachin road to continue laying mines in the territories of Azerbaijan after the Second Karabakh War.
