VIII shooting tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader held among press representatives
On May 6, the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription held a shooting tournament among media representatives dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
19 press teams, each consisting of 3 people, participated in the tournament held in Shooting Range, which is directly subordinated to the Main Department of Material and Technical Support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
SIA reports that the participants first visited the Alley of Honor, laid flowers in front of the Great Leader's grave, and commemorated his memory with respect and reverence.
The event started with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was then commemorated with a minute's silence.
The deputy head of the National Security Service, Lieutenant General Zaur Abdullayev, opening the tournament with an introductory speech, welcomed the participants and gave information about the tournament.
"The greatness of the personality of Heydar Aliyev, who saved Azerbaijan from the danger of disintegration and destruction, was recognized by the friends and enemies of our country. The return of the National Leader to political power, the foundation of a large-scale development process covering all fields was laid in our country, and a national concept was formed to ensure the preservation of independence. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continued the Great Leader's strategy of statehood, further developed it and gave our country the status of the leading state of the region. The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who clearly understood the role of the media as a professional politician and appreciated the importance of the press, was known as a friend of journalists throughout his activities," Abdullayev said, pointing out that a large part of the modern history of Azerbaijan and the preservation of our independence is connected with the name of the Great Leader.
The deputy head noted that the SSCSC regularly cooperates with the media and that several successful projects have been implemented in the past period.
After the media representatives were instructed about the safety rules, the competition started.
The teams participating in the tournament fought in 2 stages. The 5 teams with the best results in the first stage determined the top three in the second stage.
At the end of the two stages, the first place was won by the teams of APA TV, the second place by the Azerbaijan Photographers Union, and the third place by the employees of the Report Information Agency. Cups, medals, diplomas and awards were presented to the winners.
