Accepted as the harbinger of the month of Ramadan, Baraat Kandil is celebrated today.
Baraat Qandili coincides with the 15th night of the month of Shaban, the three months that begin on March 8.
According to the Islamic belief, the meaning of the word "bara'at" means to get rid of sins, to be cleansed, to receive divine pardon and mercy.
On this holy night, Muslims will repent and ask for forgiveness.
The head of the Department of Religious Affairs, Ali Arbash, issued a message about Baraat Kandil night.
"Let's make this night the beginning of a better life with meditation, recitation, worship, forgiveness, prayer and supplications," Arbash urged.
According to the information obtained by SIA, the Radio and Television Organization of Turkey will carry out the program "Baarat Kandil Night Special" in Kahramanmaras.
