AQTA detects defects in 16 enterprises operating in the food sector

The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan(AQTA) continues to take measures in order to protect consumer rights and ensure food safety, SIA reports.

According to the Information Assurance and Innovative Solutions Department of the Agency, on January 10, during the monitoring of 42 commercial enterprises operating in the field of food and 4 public catering enterprises in the territory of the republic, a total of 16 enterprises were found to have deficiencies.

8 error related to the lack of initial and periodical medical examination of the employees included in the mandatory group in those enterprises, 6 related to the acceptance of animal products without a veterinary certificate or reference, 3 related to the sale of products without labeling in the Azerbaijani language, 5 related to the absence of a food safety registration extract were detected by the agency. Appropriate measures have been taken in accordance with the requirements of the legislation regarding the detected defects.
