As part of the HORECA Pet Collection environmental project a flashmob was held in the MetroPark Shopping Center, SIA reports.
The action was held in cooperation with the Coca-Cola Company, "ASAN Volunteers" Organization, and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. The purpose of the flashmob, organized with the participation of volunteers, is to raise awareness in society about the impact of plastic waste on nature, to draw attention to waste sorting and to redirect used plastics to recycling.
The HORECA Pet Collection ecological project is implemented as part of the "World Without Waste" program of the Coca-Cola company and involves the collection of plastic waste from HORECA (hotel, restaurant, cafe) enterprises.
200 enterprises operating in Baku, Absheron and Sumgait, and nine enterprises from Mingachevir and Gabala have joined the project, which has been implemented for a year. In total, about 45 tons of plastic were collected and sent to recycling facilities.
The project, which was implemented with restaurants in the early stages, includes Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Architecture and Construction, Odlar Yurdu University, Khazar University, State Border Service Sports Complex, ASAN Service Centers from Baku State University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Architecture and Construction, Deniz Mall, MetroPark , Park Cinema, CinemaPlus cinemas, which are the largest shopping centers of Baku, car services, "Shaurma N°1", "Cafe City" and other restaurants have also joined.
Bins for plastic waste have been placed in enterprises, and various informative tools have been distributed to educate people. Within the "World Without Waste" program, Coca-Cola aims to collect and recycle all the packaging it puts on the market by 2030.
Coca-Cola company, together with the "ASAN Volunteers" Organization, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and other partners, implemented a number of projects in the environmental direction, such as "My Clean Country", "Clean Sumgayit", "Save the Caspian", "Recyclaton". In total, more than 50 tons of waste were recycled in those projects and ideas were supported to reduce the impact of waste on nature.
