Public Union organizes project of inculcating Albanian churches and culture among youth

On November 10-14, 2022, with the financial assistance of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the project titled "The national-spiritual heritage of Azerbaijan - Inculcation of Albanian churches and culture to young people" by the organization of the "Promotion of National Thought and National-Spiritual Values" Public Union was conducted.

SIA reports that the project consists of two stages. In the first stage, the purpose of the project and the proceedings were discussed. An expert gave the project participants detailed information about Albanian history, its cultural heritage, religious beliefs, monuments, falsification of its history by Armenians during Tsarist Russia, as well as its importance today.

The expert noted that, unfortunately, the Armenian tribes, who were artificially moved to the region, began to take possession of and falsify the cultural monuments belonging to Christianity after Islam.

The second stage of the project was the organization of an excursion to the mentioned monuments. After the four-day seminar, the participants of the project were organized a visit to St. Maryam Ana church, Corati church, Udin hearth located in Nic settlement of Gabala, and to the ancient Jewish synagogue located in Oghuz district as an example of the multicultural values ​​of the Azerbaijani people. The Church of St. Mary the Mother of Albania was restored in 2019 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and reopened in 2020 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.

The participants of the event were then informed about Albanian history and its cultural heritage both theoretically and practically.
