Kamran Aliyev: Armenia avoids providing information about missing persons of first Karabakh war

Armenia avoids providing information about the Azerbaijanis who went missing in the first Karabakh war and tries to shift the responsibility for that, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev told a joint briefing held by the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the crimes committed against Azerbaijan by the Armenian armed forces and illegal Armenian armed groups from 1988 to the present, SİA informs.

According to him, the parents of those who went missing in the First Karabakh War appeal to them even today: "I have raised this issue many times in the meeting with my Armenian counterpart. But unfortunately, they avoid it and try to shift the responsibility. We find those missing persons in the mass graves that have been discovered.

Today we took DNA samples from 2-3 relatives of each missing person. We are trying to identify the bodies as they are found. Several of them have already been identified. Mass graves will help us reduce the number of missing persons.
