On October 5, a group of deputies of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis met with representatives of the World Bank, SIA refers to the institution's press service.
Welcoming the guests, Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Parliament, noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to relations with the World Bank. Vugar Bayramov acknowledged Azerbaijan's cooperation with the World Bank on the application of standards in the economic field, especially standards in budget processes, and spoke about the budget and its adoption procedures in the Milli Majlis in our country.
Speaking at the meeting, members of the Economic policy, industry and entrepreneurship committee of the Milli Majlis, Aydin Huseynov and Mazahir Efendiyev reviewed the history of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the World Bank. Noting the results of this effective cooperation, they shared their views on the stability of the budget system.
The head of the World Bank delegation, Ian Halvdan Ross Hawksworth, expressed his gratitude for the sincere meeting and noted that the institution he represents is committed to cooperation with Azerbaijan. Ian Hawksworth and another representative of the World Bank, Mark Robinson, spoke about the features of the Institutional Capacity Development Program under the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, reported on the work done in the 5 areas of the program and shared their views on the management of budget processes. During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on topics of interest to the parties.
Employees of the Economic Legislation Department of the Milli Majlis Office and other officials also participated in the meeting.
