In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a briefing was held for the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev. During the briefing, the participants were given detailed information about the immediate and adequate measures taken to prevent the tension and military aggression caused by the large-scale military provocations of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Kalbajar, Lachin and Dashkasan districts. It was stated that the retaliatory measures by Azerbaijan were of a limited nature, aimed at legitimate military targets and did not target the civilian population.
It was noted that this act of aggression, which took place on the border of the conditional state, is an element of the chain of military and political provocations committed by Armenia in recent days. Among such provocations are the violation by Armenia of the provisions of the tripartite declarations signed between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the Russian Federation and the complete withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, the continuation of the mining of the territories of Azerbaijan and the increase of militarization in the conventional border region, obstructing the opening of transport communications and opposing the peace process. taking destructive steps, not responding to the proposals of the Azerbaijani side to start concrete negotiations on a peace agreement, and more such violations have been brought to attention.
At a time when reconstruction works are being carried out by Azerbaijan in the liberated areas and huge investments are being made, the military tension in the region is not in the interest of the Azerbaijani side, in the context of the return of a group of internally displaced families to the area close to the military tension zone - Agali village of Zangilan district.
