On September 13, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan's press service told SIA.
During the telephone conversation, the clashes and tension in the region were discussed.
Russian minister informed about the recent situation in the region as a result of large-scale provocations by the Armenian armed forces, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan to prevent aggression. It was emphasized that during the last month, Armenia regularly fired at our positions, continued the mining of our territories, and did not completely remove the Armenian armed forces from our territories, contrary to the tripartite declarations.
Sergey Lavrov pointed out that it is necessary to avoid conflict in the region, as well as the importance of the full implementation of the tripartite declarations signed between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia.
The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
